Mike Savage Testimonials Tauranga
Our family have known Mike for many years and when my husband Terry was dying, he wanted Mike to do his memorial service.
Mike came to the house and talked with Terry some time before the event happened, to make sure we all knew what he wanted and to respect his wishes, and when Terry passed away Mike came to the hospital to see us and to talk through what would happen next.
He was so easy to deal with, nothing was a bother, he is such a lovely man and the service he did for Terry was next level, he made it very personal, and very true to the man Terry was, it was a truly wonderful ceremony and made the day one to be remembered with happiness and love.

Mike is a very delightful, caring, genuine professional who created a very unique and memorable service for my beautiful father. He created a service that acknowledged the mana of my father within his community, using words like – “The totara has fallen in the great forest of tane”. He showed respect and dignity. The service was fun and inclusive, asking people to sing as dad was carried in and then to share what my dad meant to them with the person next to them. There was lots of laughter and chatter.
Mike had his own personal reflections, and this created a real personal vibe/touch throughout the service. Mike acknowledged the speakers and offered praise. Mike came to the hospital prior to dad’s passing, and he was supportive throughout this time. He made sure everything was handled with compassion, dignity and professionalism. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect celebration of life and send off for my father. Dad would have loved it. Mike is a very special man who is exceptional at what he does. We would highly recommend Mike’s service.
Thankyou from the Hunter/Daysh Whanau.
My wife and I worked with Mike Savage in our management and leadership roles at Holy Trinity Church in Tauranga for many years. He was always the ultimate professional and most caring Funeral Director. Mike Savage has cared for our own Whanau for 20 years at the difficult times of bereavement. He cared for both my wife’s parents and mine. We have always asked Mike to oversee and look after our loved ones who have passed and cannot be in better hands. Mike’s care for our bereaved and the wider whanau is second to none. He is caring, empathetic, patient, loving and gracious. Mike treats us like whanau and has become part of ours. He puts everything else aside and gives us all the time we need. Mike patiently guided us through all the technical issues and the service preparation. He treated our deceased family with dignity and respect. Notably, ten years ago, my father died the night before my son’s wedding. Mike treated my mother with love and respect. It was such a difficult time of mixed emotions. Mike spoke softly with Mum, saying My dad was a Taonga and he would make sure that he was never alone while we had to leave him to focus on the wedding. Mum completely relaxed, trusting Mike absolutely. It is difficult to express my appreciation without tears.
My whanau hold Mike dearly in our hearts and recommend him without hesitation.
